  1. Thank you for your interest in Backer 2.99!

  3. You will find this utility to be extremely helpful with all tasks related 
  4. to files and directories on your computer(s). Any computer that can run 
  5. Windows 3.1 or later can run Backer.
  6.  
  7. All users should read the title page of the online help.
  8. If you have already worked with previous versions of Backer switching 
  9. will cause no problems. Read "What is new in Version 2.99?" in the online 
  10. help, especially the remark on daily changing destinations.
  11. If you are a new user read the questions and examples in the online help 
  12. and use only menu item "Quick setup" in the first time.

  27. First you must decompress the archive (ZIP type) to a directory of your 
  28. choice. Then copy BWCC.DLL into your Windows system directory (usually 
  29. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\), but only if you do not have a newer or same version 
  30. already.
  31. Files 4 thru 9 are not required for operation.

  33. Legal information
  34. --------------------
  35. This is an unregistered version of Backer. The only difference to the 
  36. registered version is a reminder screen on program start and disabling of 
  37. keys F2 to F12. Thus usability is only slightly reduced.
  38. This program and its accompanying documentation are Shareware. The 
  39. Shareware principle states that you may use the product for a limited 
  40. time or to a limited extent freely, on violation of these limits, 
  41. however, either erase the product completely from your system or convert 
  42. it into the registered version by paying the registration fee, then being 
  43. subject to normal copyright rules without the limitations mentioned. In 
  44. the case of Backer the limitation is that you must not use the 
  45. unregistered version for more than 30 days. Remember: Trust is the 
  46. foundation of the Shareware principle!
  47. All users of the unregistered version of Backer are granted a limited 
  48. license to copy the product only for the trial use by themselves or 
  49. others, provided that Backer is copied in its full and unmodified form. 
  50. The copy must include all files necessary to permit full operation of the 
  51. program. It must also include this documentation. Use of unregistered 
  52. copies of Backer by any person in connection with a business, 
  53. corporation, educational institution, or government agency is forbidden. 
  54. Such users must register this product. By using the unregistered version 
  55. of Backer you acknowledge that you have read and understood this limited 
  56. license and agree to be bound by its terms and conditions. The registered 
  57. version must not be distributed.

  59. Improvements on version 2.8
  60. ------------------------------
  61. Version 2.99 among other things has substantial improvements in handling 
  62. large data volumes. See the online help under "What is new in version 
  63. 2.99?" to learn details.
